It was a pleasure to witness the first summer solstice full strawberry moon since "The Summer of Love" in 1967 lastnight. It rose up out of the cloudy horizon looking much like a Strawberry actually. Being part Native American myself, I have always found these tribal names to be intriguing. "Strawberry Moon" signified the time to harvest the ripening strawberries. (I need to work on that... I have ripening blackberries... does that count? Blackberry moon? Nice ring to it.)

On a side note, taking these photos of the moon were exceedingly difficult. Not that it is difficult to shoot the moon... goodness knows I have had my fair share of that. No... it seems that shooting the sun has burned my internal sensor out. I thought naively that it could handle it. No doubt the Mercury Transit was worth it!

Now it's time to get on the hunt for my next camera, and bring this one into retirement. Cheers!
