In 2006, I had the pleasure of visiting the
Urania Astronomical Society in Wiesbaden, Germany. My German was/is not the best, but I do know they had two large refractor telescopes and one large reflector. I am not sure now through which scope I saw Jupiter, but it had to have been a big one. It was still bright, just after sunset. The sky was still a shade of blue when I was directed to look through a scope aimed at the sky. It seemed at the time that it was not aimed at anything, but when I looked through... to my surprise...
Here is the telescope that allowed me to see this beauty... seemingly aimed at nothing...
